I switched from the simple plastic covers to these when my son learned how to pull those out simply.
These call for two hands and some wiggling back and forth to get out: they don't pull straight out.
There is no way my son (or any kid!) is going to get these out, and that is their objective... To keep him safe. I'm prepared to spend the added ten seconds and a tiny minor effort to pull them out to maintain it that way.

I've been applying these for the past 3 years, and they perform. Yes they are tough to take away, but is not that the point? I have a highly active son who in no way messes with the outlets mainly because of these devices. I am acquiring a great deal more for our second baby. Execellent product.
