This review is for the Uvex Skyper in SCT Orange lens tint. It's also available in other lens tints. The Skyper has adjustable temple length and lens inclination. Bearing in mind that everyone's head ; face shape differs, here's my comments about how they fit me. I found the wraparound lens shape to be large but comfortable...it fits me perfectly with virtually no light trespass around the edges. However, I don't like the earpiece design - I have a hard time slipping it on behind my ears, and once on, the padded earpieces put pressure on my head, often causing a headache. Other Uvex glasses with the regular (non-padded) earpiece design don't cause this problem for me. Again, your experience may differ with regard to fit.
The SCT Orange lens tint blocks virtually all ultraviolet, violet, and blue light while allowing most of the longer visible wavelengths to pass through. Unlike most sunglasses, this is a true 'blue-blocking' lens. It has an orange/deep orange coloration. These are specialty safety/work glasses and are brighter than most typical sunglasses. I actually really like 'em for working outdoors, and for wearing during the last hour or two before going to bed to help me sleep. Since they so effectively block the blue and violet part of the spectrum, color discernment is poor; these aren't meant for driving or anywhere you need color perception. If you need good color perception, Uvex has a brownish-colored lens tint called Espresso, which is an excellent general-purpose outdoor lens tint that does a good (but not as complete) job at attenuating blue light. The Uvex US website has descriptions and spectral transmission charts for all their lens tints.
Helps keep indoor lights from interfering with circadian rhythms by blocking out blue light...
My own experience (and absorption Spectrum available from mfg) shows these work just as well as far more expensive specialty glasses.
