If you have a "Bob the Builder" fan, and wish to buy them a real hard hat (as opposed to toy one that does not offer protection), this hat will do the trick. The instructions for fitting the headgear into the helmet were hard to follow, so you kind of have to look at the head-strap insert and look at the inside of the helmet and figure out how to insert it. Maybe four minutes of puzzling. But it only fits one way, so you are unlikely to get it wrong.
The hat is not quite as durable as more expensive hard hats - don't drop anvils on it. But it should absorb hits from hammers and rocks and the sort of thing that three-year old construction engineers are likely to dish out or receive.

This is a very sturdy and well-constructed hard hat, for an incredible price. I've paid twice as much for hats that are less-adjustable and less-sturdy. The shell is very durable rugged, and easily visible in dull lighting conditions. The suspension system is easy to install, super comfortable, and easy to adjust. Since I can easily tweak the back strap, it fits my head perfectly and stays on even in rigorous situations. I would easily expect to pay three times as much for a hat of this quality. I'll be sure to stock up, so I have a comfortable hard hat whenever I visit my various clients.
